The Reward of Raising Godly Children

The Reward of Raising Godly Children

Bible Verse: “The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him.”Proverbs 23:24

Exhortation

What:
Godly children are a reflection of God’s covenant blessings upon a family. They carry the fragrance of righteousness, bringing peace, joy, and honor not only to their parents but also to the community and the Body of Christ. A godly child becomes a testimony of God’s faithfulness and an instrument for the fulfillment of His divine purposes.

Why:
Raising godly children is not only a parental responsibility but also a spiritual investment with both eternal and generational rewards. Such children grow to become lights in the world, influencing society positively, resisting the corrupt systems of this age, and leaving a legacy of faith behind. Parents who raise children in the fear of God enjoy joy, rest, and fulfillment, and they position their lineage for blessings that outlive them.

How:

  • Be steadfast in training – remain consistent in teaching godly values, no matter the changing culture.
  • Pray without ceasing – saturate your children’s lives with prayer for wisdom, protection, and righteousness.
  • Lead by example – live out the Word in your own life, because children follow more what they see than what they hear.
  • Be intentional with discipline and love – guide them with firmness, yet in love, as God deals with His children.
  • Commit them to God’s Word daily – let them be rooted in Scripture, for it is the foundation of godly living.

God’s Expectation:

God expects parents to train up children in His ways (Proverbs 22:6), ensuring they grow in wisdom, righteousness, and the knowledge of Him. Parents are stewards, entrusted with young souls, and are called to raise them as arrows that will be shot into the world for God’s glory (Psalm 127:4–5).

Prayer Points

  1. Lord, make my children wise and righteous, full of the fear of the Lord.
  2. My children shall bring me joy, peace, and not sorrow all their days.
  3. Father, let my children’s lives glorify You always in word, thought, and action.
  4. Lord, make my children vessels of honor, fit for Your divine use.
  5. My children shall not bring reproach to my family, but honor to Your name.
  6. Lord, let me reap the fruits of godly parenting in joy and not in tears.
  7. Father, let the generational blessing rest upon my children and descendants.
  8. Lord, shield my children from every evil influence of the world.
  9. Father, make my children shining lights in their generation.
